Sorry I am late in sending out this summary. Firstly, many thanks to all those who responded. Due to my lack of experience with SDS I bottled out of that option and went for what I thought was the easy option!! As we use ufsdump to back up the disk I decided the quickest and easiest way to carry out what I needed to do was... Ensure backup was okay Shutdown server Replace both 36GB disks with 72GB disks Boot from CDROM Format the disks Restore from the ufsdump Reboot from disk It all went to plan until I rebooted from the disk after the restore. It didn't seem to recognise the disks. After several hours of frustration and a few glasses of wine in the evening I realised that I needed to update the /etc/path_to_inst file. So the next morning I deleted it along with the contents of the /dev/ and /devices directories, ran devfsadm -r / and then did a boot -a and it all came up beautifully. Brought the primary disk partitions into SDS and then created the mirrors. Worked a treat.
