SUMMARY: .forward broken

Thanks to Darren Dunham for the quick response, it was directory
permission, ie. the /home/u was at 777, chmod 755 fixed the problem.
I only checked the /home/u/user1 not the upper /home/u directory.

~$ grep Forward sendmail.cf
# Forward file search path
O ForwardPath=$z/.forward.$w+$h:$z/.forward+$h:$z/.forward.$w:$z/.forward

Below commands was recommended, directory/file permission below seems ok???
Sendmail README seems to say file permission...

Why is it that I'm getting "World writable directory" when I can't even
cd in the "user1" directory???

~$ /usr/lib/sendmail -v user1@sky.net < 1.txt

the "user1" account .forward contains /dev/null --yes, I want all mail
to this account to forward to /dev/null. Not sure where I need to
troubleshoot, some searches return that I should look at directory and
file permission for /home/u/user1 and .forward file...both looks normal.

~$ ls -ld /home/u/user1

~$ ls -l .forward
