Summary: Disk problem: fsck /dev/..... fails

Christopher has it in one .... see below, but thanks to all who replied

The limit is 2GB, any partition greater than this will make fsck on
/dev/dsk/... not work

In my case fsck on teh raw device did the trick

apologies for the late summary

Karl.
