SOLUTION:
After many responses from many people, the most common answer was to
upgrade the PROM to v2.25. I finally got around to doing it, and it
worked! Note that it was discovered that one of the CPUs was bad, and even
with the PROM upgrade, still gave the "Data Access Exception." So i just
replaced that CPU. =) Now I have two SM61s running and I even added 64 mb
of ram thanks to a friend of mine (who supplied me free of charge). Here
is the updated banner:

SPARCstation 10 MP (2 X 390Z55), No Keyboard
ROM Rev. 2.25, 192 MB memory installed, Serial #.....
.....

other advice included:
-check memory dimm to make sure it is completely seated
-upgrade PROM to ver. 2.25 (WORKED)
-no, you don't need to change any jumpers on the SS10mb to enable two
or more CPUs
-www.sunstuff.org to check hardware (serial numbers)
