Yes this probably should be in the FAQ if it isn't and I apologize for not
looking.

Thanks to the multitudes that responded


As some of you identified correctly I had Volume Manager running.

I needed to make the mount point on the sharing machine

share -o ro -d "CDROM" /cdrom/cdrom0

and them mounted it as someone suggested
mount -r athos:/cdrom/cdrom0 /mnt

I liked the idea of mot mounting under /cdrom on the client as a good
general behaviour. It is not really a requirement for the Netra X1 as it
cant have a CD  drive installed.
