Yup, I did miss one important step. I did not run the installboot =
command. This is what I have done.=20

1. boot cdrom -s
2. mount -f /dev/dsk/c0t3d0s6 /a
3. /usr/sbin/installboot /a/platform/sun4m/lib/fs/ufs/bootblk =
/dev/rdsk/c0t3d0s0

My originial question -->

Dear Managers

I'm trying to restore /, /usr, /var from an SS20 to another SS20. But =
after restore I can't boot it up. The error message given :-
Boot load failed
Illegal Instruction =
                                 =20

The steps I have taken is as follows:-

1.boot cdrom -s
2.newfs /dev/rdsk/c0t3d0s0
3.newfs /dev/rdsk/c0t3d0s6
4.newfs /dev/rdsk/c0t3d0s4
5.mount -f ufs /dev/rdsk/c0t3d0s0 /a
6.mount -f ufs /dev/rdsk/c0t3d0s6 /a/usr
7.mount -f ufs /dev/rdsk/c0t3d0s4 /a/var
8 run a scripts with the following
=20
mt -f /dev/rmt/0 rew
cd /a;ufsrestore xvf /dev/rmt/0cn=20
cd /a/usr;ufsrestore xvf /dev/rmt/0cn
cd /a/var;ufsrestore xvf /dev/rmt/0cn
mt -f /dev/rmt/0 rewoff

The files are restored correctly to each of the partitions. I suppose I =
missed a few steps. Please advise.=20
