SUMMARY: JumpStart server with boot server in seperate network

Installation of a boot server can be accomplised using
setup_install_server -b <dest path>

Then manipulate it as you would an jumpstart server (add_install_client);
you can provide a default gateway by maniupulating the mini-root file in
<Mini-Root-Path>/etc/defaultrouter.

This is further detailed in the following step-by-step guide on the
documentation site:
http://docs.sun.com/ab2/coll.214.7/SPARCINSTALL/@Ab2PageView/idmatch(NETINST
ALL-94672)?Ab2Lang=C&Ab2Enc=iso-8859-1#NETINSTALL-94672

I have created my boot server with a minimum of fuss, though it is currently
untested.

Subject: JumpStart server with boot server in seperate network

I have a well configured jumpstart server used to do the installation and
configuration of web servers, this server is installed in our primary
hosting facility. We need to be able to install and configure some more web
servers on a remote network. This remote facility is link with a 100Mbps
leased line so performance should be acceptable for the installations.

I will however need to seperate the boot server from the jumpstart server. I
have no experience using a seperate boot server. I am hoping that someone
can provide me with a few guiding steps on configuring a boot server. I am
currently using BOOTP to assign IP addresses to servers that I am
installing, I am not sure how well this will work remotely, as I don't know
how to provide a default router using bootp.

Please advise, I will provide a detailed summary.
