Hi,

I thank to Timothy, Gurugunti, Tony, Eshafto, Mike and Frederiksen who
responded to my query immediately but unfortunately it didn't work and I found
following error message when the system boots up:

Feb 28 20:06:15 ultra-1 le: le0: No carrier - cable disconnected or hub link
test disabled?
Feb 28 20:12:50 ultra-1 le: le0: No carrier - cable disconnected or hub link
test disabled?
Feb 28 20:19:27 ultra-1 le: le0: No carrier - cable disconnected or hub link
test disabled?
Feb 28 20:26:06 ultra-1 le: le0: No carrier - cable disconnected or hub link
test disabled?

The client configuration is very simple which is described on
http://www.rite-group.com/consulting/solaris_dhcp.html (Thanks Tony for this
info) and I followed the same but of no click.

By any chance if you guys know something more to be done then please let me
know. I checked with Service Provider and they said their DHPC Server is up
24x7 and they give their IP address also. I could ping to those IP addresses
when I use Windows box.

I am posting the summary late because I was busy in testing this process at
home to make sure the steps.

Original Post:

I have Sun Ultra-1 with Solaris 2.6 and network card. I want to use this box
for internet surfing with my cable modem connection. What do I need to do?
With windows-9.x its very simple. Just power-reset the modem, boot the pc and
you are all-set. How to do the same thing with Sun box?

I thank you all for your help and cooperation.

Amindra
