SUMMARY: matlab drops core with patch 112963-22

From: Tom Crummey <>
Date: Tue Aug 16 2005 - 12:48:46 EDT

This had been seen and was accepted as a bug by SUN. Casper Dik
explained that it was due to .init orderings which don't like being
changed by differences to implementations.

The workaround is to back out patch 112963-22 to version 20.

There is a test package available which also fixes the problem.

The problem is also visible in Solaris 10 with patch 117641-04
(according to David Foster).

Casper Dik also confirmed that a new version of the patch would be
released which fixes the problem.
