I want to thank everyone for their response. It
sounds like non-sun memory will work just fine in my
Sun equipment, however Sun will not support it,
apparently they can ever determine 3rd party memory
when reading the dumps. We have Sun Maintenance and
so we have decided not to buy non-sun memory.

However, for the record, here is what was recommended.
Kingston with 14 votes
Crucial with 10 votes
DataRam	with 5 votes
Southland Micro with 1 vote

Also at least 8 votes for not using 3rd party memory

############### Original Question #############
I need to purchase more memory for my SunFire 280R and
Original Sun memory is a little pricey. The question
is would you recommend using 3rd party memory, and if
so which brand? What are my risks, I know Sun won't
support it, but I don't expect memory to fail after it
is installed.
