SUMMARY Amount of disk space lost when using raid 5?

Okay the word on the street is that the equation is :

(number of disks - 1) * size of disks

That is, you lose one disk to parity with Raid 5. So with 10 36GB disks
I'll get 9 * 36 GB of space, or 324GB.
