Thanks to Todd Jensen, Kevin Van Der Hart, steve j. kondik, Scott Howard, UnixAdmin (Joe), Casper Dik, Randy Romero, Paul Richards, ed.rolison, and David LaPorte I was able to install. Most everyone suggested unzipping the patch into /tmp and making sure it was readable. I had changed perms on my homedir to 750 so user "nobody" was unable to read the files. This error is actually covered in the manpages so I guess I shoulda RTFM. Thanks again.
