Original question:

E6500/Solaris8, JNI cards -> Brocade switch -> EMC Symmetrix

Update sd.conf with additional disks, execute devfsadm/disks/devlinks

Can't see new devices...why??

Many thanks to all who replied, most, if not all, correctly: Additionally,
a great suggestion is to be proactive and list
additional devices prior to actual installation in sd.conf. This way a
reboot can be avoided.

Answer:

You'll have to reboot because you added your sd.conf entries while it is
up.
What we've done so we avoid reboots is open up our sd.conf to all possible
target - lun combinations to make possible on-line disk
additions/configurations (max out your LUNS per possible taerget to 255 in
each server's sd.conf and reboot).
