Hi,

Thanks go to Brett Holman, John T. Douglas, Charles Gagnon, Mike Meredith
and Bendict De Silva.

Seems that the mt command with options offline/rewoffl will do the trick.

Also get hold of stctl from

http://www.cs.pdx.edu/~eric/stctl/

though this came with a caution regarding it's use on 64 bit systems.
A somewhat grander solution will be provided by getting Veritas Netbackup on
the system.
$Ker-ching$ 20 large please. Thankyou very much.

Cheers

Joe

Original q:

Are there any commands in Solaris 8 for manual handling of tapes in an L280
tape loader?
I'm looking for something equivalent to mt load/unload or the SCSI-CAM utils
available in Tru64.
