But nothing worked... So far it looks like HP, DEC and IBM have their own
implimentation of the shadow file concept but don't know how to access the
map containing the encrypted passwords served by a Solaris NIS server -
only Solaris NIS clients do. Oh well.

Since I only got 4 responses, I guess not too many people are in my
situation. But I would still like this happen so I will put the question
to an HP list and see if anyone knows the solution or can enlighten me.
If I get anymore information, I'll pass it on.
