Summary: Attaching External Devices

First of all thanks to everyone for the many responses. To summarize.....some
people have said they have hot swapped scsi, ethernet, keyboards and monitors.
BUT the main issue was to swap at your own risk. Someone had mentioned that
at a Sun hardware course the instructor mentioned even swapping the ethernet
cable might do damage.

So to put things in a rule base, the procedure would be:
1.gracefully shut down the machine
2.physically add the external device
3.power up the machine
4.make the configuration changes.

If thats not on the money, someone feel free to add their two cents in and I
will post it.

cheers,
Connor McLeod
