SUMMARY: Restore elswhere using Solstice Backup 5.0.1?

Thanks to all who responded to this question. The answer is:

Yes, one may restore files backed up from one machine to another, or
into a different location than the file's origin using the following
methods.

The GUI option "Relocate" will restore the selected files to the path
desired. For example, if /export/home/bob/files/data.sql needs to be
restored to a different directory, say /temp, one will end up with
/temp/export/home/bob/files/data.sql.

"Also, in the Backup Admin Guide they mention that the recover command
line utility has a switch for this:

 Use the -d destination option to specify the destination directory
where you relocate the
 recovered file. Relative paths are interpreted in relation to the
current working directory." -Imre Kolos (thanks)

Fortunately, we found a utility to break up the original file without
destroying its legibility by Oracle and were able to restore the
missing data without the other rigamarole.
