thanks again to everyone.
===================================================
origin question:
One sun box,solaris 2.6+recommanded patch+y2k patch.
system default in.ftpd.

 one user in the system can not use ftp.why? which configuration file can i
modify?

=====================================================
solution:
Most people suggested that I need to check /etc/shells and /etc/ftpusers.
/etc/ftpusers specifies those account/login IDs which will not be allowed
ftp access to the system.
if a user's shell is not in /etc/shells,the user will not be denied ftp
access.

I checked /etc/shells and added /usr/local/bin/bash,then it works.

thanks
