Summary : How do I stop a machine using shadow passwords?

From: Stephen Johnston (sjohnsto@eso.org)

Most people said put the encrypted back in passwd and (perhaps) move the
shadow file.

Some poeple said 'pwconv' - this goes only one way from not using shadow
to using. Others suggested 'pwunconv' which I couldn't find at all.

All said why would you want to do it anyway? Answer is I don't but it's
not my call unfortunately.

Thanks to everyone who spent time replying!

Regards,

Stephen.
