When you installed sendmail 8.9.3 did you compile mailstats from
the distribution? Since Sun ships its own version of Sendmail, I
suspect that the mailstat program in /usr/bin is probably the
sun version.
I had a simliar problem on one of my Solaris 2.6 mail hubs.
When I compiled mailstat from
.../sendmail/mailstats/obj.SunOS.5.6.sun4 and copied it to
/usr/bin, everything worked ok.
