SUMMARY: How to support 15000 printers

Hi all,

here is my original question:

I have a simple question, is it possible to support lets say 15000 printers
with the normal spooling system, or exist there any other good solutions?
The queueing system should be realized on one host running Solaris 2.6 or 7.

The results were, that most people are concerned about the bandwidth, the
scale of the spool directory, the power of the machine and so on. These
facts
are in our focus, and we think that we can handle that issues.

As solutions, I received suggestions for an IBM mainframe, a linux solution
with
the Cisco print system. Software solution are LPRng
(ftp://ftp.astart.com/pub/LPRng/LPRng/LPRng-3.5.4.tgz),
dazel (http://www.dazel.com) and qmaster (http://www.qmaster.com).

Currently we consider to use either dazel or qmaster.
