Does anyone have a be driver for Sun BigMAC 10/100 mb/sec fast ethernet
interface that can be install into Solaris 7 kernel?

I have Sun sparc 10 model 20. Previously it has Solaris 2.6 and uses be0
device. I recently installed Solaris 7 and it configured to use le0 device.
Somehow the le0 device is not working(would not connect to network and show dead
on hub led display). I would like to use the be0 device (planning to use 100
mb/s network)

Will transfering be driver from 2.6 kernel to 7 kernel work?

Solution:

Buy a new hme network card ($$$)

or

I did a little expirement,I copied the be driver from a Solaris 2.6 platform and
copied them to my Solaris 7 platform in /kernel/drv. I took the SUNWqfed
postinstall script from Solaris 7 CD and modified it so it will configure to use
be instead of qfed. I ran the script, renamed hostname.le0 to hostname.be0 and
rebooted the machine. It works!!

or

With help from John Weekly, I copied the Solaris 7 beta be driver to /kernel/drv
path and did reboot -- -r. It works!!

I like to thanks those for responding

NOTE: Sun does not support be driver in Solaris 7.
