REDUX on SUMMARY: Tape Backup Setup Question

Greetings, again.

Just to close this, I did get a chance to do some testing on this drive, as
well as a drive on another machine.

the second drive seemed to work fine, still had some problems with the
original drive... until it died. :-/ So, I
guess we have a confirmation on THAT problem.
