hi,

thanx for the reply, i got top from sunsite and apparently
a Solaris 2.5 version. i downloaded one from the sites below
and compiled, it is ok now, thanx for everyone's reply.

everyone say i need to get one version exclusively for
Solaris 2.6. Here are two more specific answer.

----------- from Christopher -------------------------------------

Here are the "best" locations from the doc for the version I've got
(current as of a couple of weeks ago, at least):

<A HREF="ftp://ftp.groupsys.com/pub/top">Top archive (groupsys.com)</A>
<A HREF="ftp://eecs.nwu.edu/pub/top">Top archive (eecs.nwu.edu)</A>
<A HREF="ftp://pharos.dgim.doc.ca/packages/top"> Top mirror
(dgim.doc.ca)</A>
<A HREF="ftp://uiarchive.uiuc.edu/pub/packages/top/">Top mirror
(uiuc.edu)</A>

I'd start with the groupsys.com, as that's Bill's company.

( note : i wonder which Bill is Christ refering to :)

------------ from Zivko ----------------------------------------

Try this one: http://smc.vnet.net

It is Freeware for Solaris site. Go to Sparc 2.6 packages. There is a
top-3.5. You need a GCC 2.8 for Solaris 2.6 to compile it. You can
find it as a package on the same site and install normally as a
package (pkgadd) on a machine.

and many more to come. :)
