As it turns out, the printer names on the server and client didn't match.
The "unknown printer" statement was the key. It's also important to note
that JetDirect doesn't like "-" in printer names and will rewrite them to
"_", and that it will attach a unique number identifier for each
subsequent queue that is created. In my case, the printer I really wanted
was "eng_hp_4000_1" rather than "eng-hp4000." Once I deleted and renamed
the remote printer using Admintool, everything worked.
