The answer is:
The error message originates from a Sparc Storage Array
(SSA) - more precisely from the serial optical controller
device driver.
A case was opened due to the fact, that the system seems
to be still operational and it is not clear, whether a defect
on one of the disks, the cable or the controller itself is the reason
for the error message.
