ORIGINAL QUESTIONS:

Is there any problems if I move /var/sadm to a different partition and
create a simbolic link to the new location from /var???

I need more space for /var/sadm for the installation of new patches, and
also to get some more space for the rest of the /var subdirectories.

Another option would be to repartition the disk, but since this ws is our
development server, file server, nis+ server, etc server, I would like to
avoid that if it's possible.

ANSWERS:

Many people has done this and they didn't find any problem.

The only problem seems to be when you are going to upgrade the os. For that
you need the /var/sadm on /var partition. If you have moved it like I
wanted, then you will have to reinstall the OS, you can't upgrade.

Casper pointed that 2.6 allows repartition.

Now we have to decide if to upgrade now and then repartition, or move the
direcotry and face the problems if/when we decide to upgrade to 2.6 (we are
now on 2.5.1).

Thanks to all the repliers
