Thanks the following people who responded:

The responses ranges from denial to confirmal.
Basically, I am leaning toward the opinion
that 256M DIMMs will work in Ultra 60, but
Sun will not support them until a thorough
testing is conducted. Theoretically, one can
run into some OS bugs which only get exposed
with more than 2G of RAM ( my speculation ).
