Thanks to everyone who responded,

PROBLEM: Correcting the rounding error customizing partition layout in
disksetup for 2.6

SOLUTION: The overwhelming majority of responses suggested using the
cylinder view rather the the Mb view to tweak disk layout. This worked
great for me.
