There was only one reply to my posting, but it didn't help to solve the
problem.
I also tried to update the drivers w/ Driver Update 9 from access1.sun.com, but
the same symptoms still occur.

Finally I pkgrm the bundled PPP packages and installed SunLink/Solstice PPP
v.3-1 (free for single client connection) and in 10 minutes it was up and
running on my Toshiba laptop. It also works w/ Megaherts XJ4336 connected to a
cell phone :-)

So, if you are having problem w/ Solaris bundled PPP package, you may want to
try the Solstice PPP. It works great.

Original posting:
=================

Has anyone successfully setup a PPP client on a Solaris x86 on a laptop?

I trying to setup a PPP client on Solaris 2.5.1_x86 on Toshiba Satelite Pro
430CDT w/ USR Megahertz XJ1288 PCMCIA card using standard Solaris ppp
packages (SUNWapppr, SUNWapppu,SUNWpppk). The PPP server is a Sun Network
Terminal Server running Sun NTS driver v.1.0.

I have setup several clients on Solaris 2.5/2.5.1 on Sparcs arch (IPX/SS10/20)
succesfully, but am having problems w/ The x86 version on a laptop.
I have installed all of the recommended patches, including the latest asppp
patch (104517-03). I have searched Sunsolve and all PPP related FAQs I
could find.

The client made the connections, finished the script and started the LCP
negotiation but kept on failing.

The debugging in asppp.log shows:

I am almost at the end of my rope here, please help, will summarize.

Thanks.
