Dear Managers,
The Solaris 2.x mount command can handle a ISO9660 CDROM, without any
problems.
Something like "mount -F hsfs -o ro /dev/dsk/c0t6d0s0 /cdrom" will work
fine.
The reason that I can't mount a SoftQuad CDROM (HotMetal 3 Pro for
Solaris 2.x) is that CDROM was recorded in a format named "CDROMXA" or
"mode2". This is the last information that I receive from SoftQuad Tech
Support. The first information from SoftQuad tell me that CDROM is a
ISO9660, so you see the confusion....
Anyway, I can't read this CD on Solaris 2.x.
To install the software I put this CD on a Microsoft Windows (arghh) NT
and copy the file throught the net. (!!!)

I can read this CD on a (argh...) Windows-based computer.
How I can tell about this format to Solaris ? The mount option
-F
doesn't know anything about iso9660 format. Using the FStype "hsfs", the
mount command returns:
root as ROOT@boss[29] mount -F hsfs -o ro /dev/dsk/c0t6d0s0 /cdrom
hsfs mount: /dev/dsk/c0t6d0s0 is not an hsfs file system.
root as ROOT@boss[30]
I am sure the volmgt isn't running.
I am sure the others CDROM can be mounted without problems, by
hand or
by volmgt.
I will summarize, of course.
