To get the job done the last line which contained an actual call of the daemon
had to be edited (NOTE : Solaris 2.4:

/etc/rc2.d/S72inetsvc

another suggestions which I assumed was for sunOS 4.1.X were to edit
/etc/rc.local
and maybe for 2.5
/etc/init.d/inetsvc

Suggestions regarding the -s (standalone flag) were:

Glenn Satchell-
Just don't do it! Running without the -s option causes inetd to
come under the control of the Service Access Facility. SAF and
SAC are a very complicated sub-system and running inetd under
their control is just asking for more trouble and complexity.
Why would you want to change the way it runs?

SAF and SAC are used for starting services such as the printer
listener service and logins for serial ports and modems.

Reto Lichtensteiger,
Stated it defaults control of services to SAF w/o '-s' and
SAF is annoying system5 stuff ...

---------------------------------------------------------------

Well inlight of all suggestions I tried running it w/o the '-s' flag. Major
No-no! I could not connect from remote sytems after reboot!

Rudolp
