solve my problem , not succesfuly this time :-(

The original was :

Hello,
after setting up NIS on SunOs 4.1.4 with no problems
during the installation, i got 2 major problems:

1. can't print from the master server to remote printer that is on
 one of the clients.
2. can't see a client disk from the master server using automount.

any hint will be helpfull since i don't know where to start ...

I'll summarize.

CHeck the netgroups map. Check export permissions. Check
NFS daemons.

Make sure the client machine is running

   rpc.mountd -n
   automount -f /etc/auto.master
   nfsd

Is the client machine using SunOs 4.x ? If yes, try to add the master
server's IP address in the /etc/hosts file AND the master server's
hostname in the /etc/hosts.equiv file. In SunOS, only those machine
consider "trusted", have an entry in the /etc/hosts.equiv or
/etc/hosts.lpd are allow to access the printer. You may try to "man lpd"
for more detail.
