Hi!
/bin/mail to myself was bouncing back. This was because I installed a new
sendmail.cf as /etc/sendmail.cf. I believe, Solaris 2.x requires that it be
installed as /etc/mail/sendmail.cf.
But I did get other valuable sendmail debugging suggestions from Kris Briscoe
and Dermski. Thanks guys!

Hello,
We will need to know a bit more about your system and if you
are running YP or DNS etc.
what is your domain name?
what is the name of the machine you are sending mail from/to?
is there an entry in the aliases file/map for atreya?
Is the mailhost set in the hosts file?
Have you set a .forward file.
A good way to get more debug output is to run sendmail interactively ie
/usr/lib/sendmail -v -d20 atreya
This will show you what is going on at least.
