My original question on April 24, 1996 is:

The suggestions:

1. Use the command 'fsck' to check the disk after umount the disk driver.

2. Repair the affected sectors using 'repair' command or analyze the disk in format.

3. Replace the disk which is going bad with a new one.

4. Keep each partition under 2GB.

The way we used:
  
    Umount the disk;
    Run the command repair in format;
    Run fsck to check the disk;

    We repaired more than a hundred bad blocks and new bad blocks appear again, so we have already ordered a new disk.
