First of all, thanks to everybody who answers my request. I cannot list
all of you because you are too many.

Most of you suggest to run: netscape -install to give netscape a private
color swap area. - doesn't work for me.

I am using Kernel 1.2.3 and XFree86 3.1.1. And the SVGA card I'm using is
Trident 9660.

Currently, XFree86 3.1.1 doesn't support my card, and I have to let Linux
treats my card as a general VGA16.

When I run 'netscape -mono', I can get netscape running with bouch of
warnings.

So, my current solution is:

run netscape 1.1 if I want to view images and/or graphics
run netscape 2.0 if I want to view text files. (netscape 2.0 supports
                   multi-language fonts)

XFree86 3.1.2 has the improvment of supporting Trident 9440 cards.

Thanks to Patrick.A.Hosein@gw1.att.com, he gives me the URL site which
has the newest XFree86 3.1.2D beta version

http://www.xfree86.org/ (click on the link to the Xfree86 beta release)

that version can fully support Trident 9440 cards and has improvement in
supporting 9660/9680 cards.

However, XFree86 3.1.2D will expire on June, 96.
