My original question was:
Anyway, I'm running Solaris 2.4 and want to limit the number
of processes that any user may have (besides root, of course). I
thought that there was something that could be placed in
/etc/system, like set maxuproc=number, but when I tried
setting that,my system booted with the error that maxuproc was
undefined in the kernel.
I immediately got a response that answered my question. Thanks to
Kevin Sheehan <kevin@uniq.com.au> my system boots properly.
The problem was that I was (stupidly) spelling the variable name
wrong. it's maxuprc, not maxuproc as I had been trying.
Thanks to Kevin and everyone who sent responses that I haven't received
yet.
