Look at the jumper setting on the dirve, all Sun hard disk require
either receive a signal before spinning up or spinning up when power on.
Something for you to look into.
You need to get a /etc/format.dat entry for the disk,
both the physical description section and the partitioning
section.
Then while in format, re-label it.
you have to boot from the installation CD,
then startup the Miniroot from SunOS 4.1.3
start the format Program and choose "backup"
from the format Menu. That's all.
Are you sure you have installed it on the right SCSI port?
Run probe-scsi at the "ok" prompt, and see if it's correctly mapped.
Assuming that the HP drive is an external drive, have you
changed the SCSI address to be different than that of
any SCSI drives you may have on the Sun?
