I've had similar problems before, and the only solution was to get a new disk.
BTW, you probably know this already but in case you don't, be sure not
to run destructive analysis on the first cylinder, as it contains the
disk label. I didn't know this until I read about it somewhere
sometime this past year, and I wonder if I may have caused one or more
of the disk label problems we have seen.

Try to get into the partition section. Maybe even change a partiton or two
slightly. Then write the label. If you still can't boot, format, etc. then
