As user "sysadmin" using admintool to add a new user, I failed -

        The operation failed
        with this status:
        Error code is 141, failure mode is CLEAN
        Error 22 adding passwd entry:
        NIS+ error while executing nis_add_entry for
                passwd.org_dir.prin.reci.com.: Permission denied

Checking around shows -

:) What authentication security level are you running rpc.nisd at? I've (and
:) others I know who've been using NIS+ since Solaris 2.1) had problems when
:) security is turned on (any level > 0). So much for authentication! If you've
:) got it turned on, try running rpc.nisd with '-S 0'. I don't know if this
:) problem has been fixed. The site I'm at now doesn't use NIS+, so I haven't
:) been keeping track of the patches for it.

Was running security level 2. Maybe I'll be luckier with 2.4 when it arrives.
