The combined opinion is
1). PC-NFS does NOT work with "NIS+" and does work with "NIS+ in NIS
compatability mode".
2). To start NIS+ in NIS compatability mode
a). On NIS+ master, edit /etc/init.d/rpc and uncomment the line:
EMULYP="-Y"(add "-B" for NIS+ to forward YP requests to DNS)
b). and "reboot"
OR
kill rpc.nisd and restart rpc.nisd -r -Y (-B)
