Hello Sun Managers,

First, happy new year and many thanks for all the answers.
My original question was :

> We have 3 Sparc Stations running SunOS 4.1.3 without NIS.
> I created a file /etc/netgroup on HOST1 with this syntax :
>
> GROUP (HOST2,,) (HOST3,,)
>
> I want to have a computer group, I don't care about users and domains.
> I had given access to this netgroup in the file /etc/exports.
>
> /home -access=GROUP:....,-root=........
>
> Of course, I have done an exportfs -a on HOST1.
> But when I try to mount the disk /home from HOST2 or HOST3, access is denied.
> I experienced the same manipulation on HP computers and it works perfectly.
> I have read all man pages without benefit. Anyone could help me ?

I apologize for the typo on -root. In my exports file, the line was
correctly defined as

  /home -access=GROUP:....,root=.......

The answer was in fact obvious : netgroup can't work on SunOS 4.1.x without NIS.
Others answers told me that there was some problems with spaces at the end of lines
of the exports and netgroup files. I think it was about SunOS 4.1.x+NIS or Solaris 2.x.
