i received lots of mail the last two days concerning my problem with
a seagate st11200n drive which doesn't let me format it.
the quintessence is that this is typical behavior for this type of drive.
if even formatting is no longer possible, the only way to get rid of the problem
is to get rid of the drive. thank god it's still under warranty.
