Thanks to all who replied, sorry to take so long for the summary, but I
wanted to check for sure that the fix worked. Anyway, there are 2
approaches:
(1) load the jumbo patch 101318-54 that has mutex stuff amoungst
many other things. We had an earlier version (-30) of this patch
loaded, & it hadn't fixed it. We didn't try this, as the next
one worked.
(2) What worked for us (don't ask me why!) :
add the following line in "/etc/system" :
set enable_sm_wa = 1
Roll on Solaris 2.4 !!!!!
