Summary:
The consensus seems to be that I had one of the following problems:
1) SCSI Cable was too long.
2) Using a NON-SUN drive on a Sun SCSI bus.
3) Mixing SCSI and SCSI-2.
4) Bad SCSI Bus or cable.
5) Incorrect termination.
Solution:
Removing the external cdrom drive that had been chained on seems to have
fixed the problem. I'm still not sure where exactly the problem was since
I did not get a chance to check out any of the solutions (the user of the
workstation removed the cdrom drive himself). However, I would like
