I was overwhelmed with responses ! Thanks to all Who replied !

The Answer is (drum roll please) 1.1.1 version B. ;) there are
some patches needed, summary is below:

The SPARC 5 can use Solaris 1.1.1 B. Also, there is a
Supplemental patch for Solaris 1.1.1 B called 101508 kernel
patch for microsparc 2 (SPARC 5).

Yup, you need Solaris 1.1.1B aka SunOS 4.1.3_U1 rev B.

Generally it works ok, although we've had two problems:

1. If you define it as a server, it will only let you specify
sun4m clients, not the sun4c we wanted. (in suninstall)

2. If your network has problems with giant packets from
ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff, the ethernet board in the SS5 will
cease listening to incoming packets. The fix is an
unnumbered patch from Sun that replaces if_le.o in the
kernel. The fault was originally found on LX and Classics
    under 4.1.3_U1.

Yep - Solaris 1.1.1 rev B, plus the "ms2" patch for the MicroSPARC II.

(If you want a Solaris 2.x os you need Solaris 2.3 Edition II (SunOS 5.3 Ed. II)
