SUMMARY: EXABYTE 8500 not recognized under Solaris 2.3

Sorry for the long delay! My original question was:

The solution for me was to add following two lines to /kernel/drv/st.conf:
 
tape-config-list="EXABYTE EXB-8500-85Qanx0","","ruf1";
ruf1 = 1,0x29,1024,0x0239,4,0x14,0,0,0,1;
 
The high density mode of my Exabyte 8500 was only usable with
the density code 0.
