In short, ALL responses had suggested using either rdist or NIS(+), with
rdist NOT being the bundled version, but the PD one.
We will not be using NIS since we'll be dealing with several NIS
domains, so rdist seems to be our only option.
Original posting below:
# We need to maintain identical sets of alias files across our WAN. There
# are four 'main' servers on which this file will reside, with several
# sysadmins that will need to modify them fairly frequently. We are
# trying to find the 'best' way possible to manage these files. How can
# we keep these files up-to-date? What is the best way to 'distribute'
# this file? In general, how should we go about managing several thousand
# aliases across several machines over a WAN? I would love to hear what
# you do at your site(s).
#
# Recommendations/suggestions/opinions are all welcome.

# Thanks a lot.
