SUMMARY: Printer sharing over LANWorks.

Thanks to all for the responses.

There were a few options I guess I could take.
1. Purchase one of the new models of Fastport from Milan. These
units can tie your serial, parallel, or Apple printer to an ethernet
LAN and can speak all of the languages (IPX, AppleTalk, TCP/IP).
Any other print server will work as well, not just the Fastport
(Lantronix makes one, so does HP).

2. To print to Novell printers from Suns, PC windows, et. al.,
use Nlpd, a winsock-compient lp daemon and a utility called
Trumpet from Peter Tatum.

        Nlpd: ftp to ftp.cica.indiana.edu ; /pub/pc/winsock/wslpd.zip
        Winsock:ftp to ftp.utas.edu.au ; /pc/trumpet/winsock

3. One suggestion was to use HP 4siMX's (means go out and buy new
printers)

4. NFS for Netware. Includes printer client utilities

5. FLEX/IP from Netware. Runs as an NLM on the print server.
Can move printjobs from Netware to Sun environments.

And the winner is.....

Well, no one really. It turns out that our department will come into
posession of a new Apple LaserWriter 810 printer. It speaks IPX,
AppleTalk, TCP/IP, etc. It polls all ports and all protocols for
print jobs. I found out about our acquisition about three days after
I mailed the original question out (see below).
