Interesting claim, but, if it's true, how then did the SunOS 4.1.3
version of "bc", which opens a pipe to "/usr/bin/dc", work on a SunOS
5.1 machine here?
(I.e., it works to some extent - it may be that it blows up in some
circumstances, but it's definitely not true that it *never* works.)
Similarly, the SunOS 4.1.3 "/usr/bin/kill" seemed to work OK on that
SunOS 5.1 machine - I ran that binary with the arguments "-ABRT <pid>",
and the process in question did, indeed, die with SIGABRT.
